Stripping agent for vat dyes DA-BS800 is suitable for stripping and leveling for vat, sulphur, reactive and direct dyes.

DA-BS800 is a stripping and leveling agent which has a strong affinity with cotton fiber. It is suitable for vat, sulfur, reactive and direct dyes. Besides, it is a retarding agent for vat and direct dyes. Also it can prevent white staining when washing after direct and reactive printing.

Stripping after dyeing and printing For vat dyes Significant results can be achieved when add DA-BS800 to stripping bath of vat dyes. While the stripping effect depend on the amount of DA-BS800. Recommended dosage for stripping is as follows when in big liquid ratio. 3-5 g/L DA-BS800 As refer to deep color, suggest adding protective colloid, such as Dekol SN-S (2g/L) or dispersing agents such as Setamol WS or Uniperol AC (2g/L) to avoid precipitation. If it is hard water, we recommend adding Dekol SN-S or Trilon TB. The stripping temperature should be as high as possible, but can not exceed 85°C in order to maintain the stability of the dye bath. Recipe: 2 g/L Dekol SN-S 1-2 g/L Setamol WS or/and 1-2 g/L Uniperol AC 10-15 mL/L Sodium hydroxide 5-6 g/L Sodium hydrosulfite 3-5 g/L DA-BS800 Keep for 45-60mins at 60-85°C(checkout the reduction state), then warm washing, cold washing. The greater the dye bath, the smaller risk of dye precipitation in DA-BS800 solution. Light color 1:5 Medium color 1:8 to 1:10 Deep color 1:10 or more greater For sulfur dyes DA-BS800 can strip sulfur dyes also. The dyeing matters can be stripped in bath of sodium hydroxide and sodium hydrosulfite, but can’t in boiling bath of sodium sulfide. The stripping method or application rule of sulfur dyes is same to vat dyes. For direct dyes The stripping recipe for direct dyes is as follows, 1 g/L Sodium carbonate 2 g/L Sodium hydrosulfite 2 g/L DA-BS800 Keep for 30-60min at 50°C,then rinse thoroughly. For reactive dyes The stripping recipe for reactive dyes is as follows, 15 ml/L Sodium hydroxide 5 g/L Sodium hydrosulfite 2 g/L DA-BS800 Keep for 30-60min at 60-80°C,then rinse thoroughly. 2. Cooking light application of direct dyes The direct dyed fabric should be treated in large bath with nearly boiling water. 0.5-2 g/L Sodium carbonate 1-3 g/L DA-BS800 0.5-1g/L Trilon TB can be added into the dye bath after the dyes are fixed with copper salt. 3. Washing after direct and reactive printing DA-BS800 can prevent white staining when washing after direct or reactive printing. It can also avoid ground staining in direct printing process. DA-BS800 is especially recommended for those reactive dyes which are difficult to wash off. In addition to the regular detergents, 0.5-1.5g/L DA-BS800 should be added to the work solution. 4. Level dyeing of vat and direct dyes For vat dyes DA-BS800 has very strong retarding effect, so it can provide leveling effect, especially in harsh conditions, such as cheese yarn light dyeing. For the sake of avoiding unnecessary dyes wastage, only a small amount of DA-BS800 can be used. The recipe of level dyeing is as below, 2 g/L Dekol SN-S 0.5-2 g/L Peregal P 0.05-0.3 g/L DA-BS800

Process conditions as below:

The method of completely inactivation is as follows: Use 1-2 g/L soda ash to adjust pH value to 10, washing for 15 minutes at the temperature of 80°C. Storage Package 25kg/ plastic woven or kraft paper bags. Keep in a closed container at about 25°C for at least three months shelf life.

Safety and considerations

This product is stable to slight chemical action. However, it can be shaped into powder by excessive mechanical lapping or smashing. Note: the dosage in table 1 is with respect to the final liquor, so calculate again when separately dissolve the chemicals. Application method: first, dissolve the dyes and chemicals respectively and thoroughly, then the dye and alkali liquor are mixed at a convenient volume ratio (generally 4:1) by metering pump just before padding. For example, when the dosage of dye is 40g/L, caustic soda is 6g/L and the DA-GS710 is 20g/L, the volume ratio of dye and alkali is 4:1. Prepare 100L padding liquor, then need 80L dye liquor (dye 50g/L) and 20L alkali liquor (caustic soda 30g/L+DA-GS710 100g/L) Recommend ed process: preparation of padding liquor→ padding → uniformly roll up → covered with plastic sheet → batching for certain time( adjust the batch time according to the color depth) → warm washing → cold washing → soaping →warm washing → cold washing → drying. Notification:

1. The preparation of working liquor: must dissolve the dyes and DA-GS710 respectively, then mix the two liquor before padding in proportion.

2. Washing cycles: adjust the times of warm washing, cold washing and soaping according to the color depth

Recommend Dosage There are many factors can impact polish effect, including the texture and structure of fabrics, technological parameters, auxiliaries, dyes, process time, equipments and expected effect.

Enzyme inactivation All cellulase should be inactivated after treatment. Residual enzyme will decrease strength of the fabrics than expected. The method of inactivation is as follows: Adjust pH value above to 9.0, temperature above to 60°C and keep for 15 minutes. And you can use soda ash or borax to adjust the pH value. Storage The activity of enzymes will gradually reduce when storage after a certain time. And the loss of activity mainly depends on the storage temperature. It is recommended that keep enzymes in a cold storage. Enzyme activity could stable for 3 months when stored at 25°C in a closed container. Long-term storage or other hazardous conditions, including high temperature, may lead to more dosage. Safety and considerations Avoid inhalation of enzyme liquid, if inadvertently contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with water continuously at least 15 minutes.

Closed, a jeans brand that provides designer styles based in Hamburg, has launched a denim vending prototype machine in Florence, Italy to see how people embrace jeans-on-the-go. If the concept seems to take off, the idea is that it will be setup in train stations, bus stations and airports around Europe so those jet-lagged and unclean can find themselves in a new and clean pair of jeans.

Interesting concept, I just wonder how the machines handle returns, since finding the right fit for jeans is nearly as hard to attain as world peace.

Washing Jeans; The Process

1. 
   First, read the care label inside your jeans. If any of the directions for washing contradict what is contained in this article, opt for the manufacturer’s directions as listed on the tag.
2. Empty the pockets of your jeans.
3. Turn your jeans inside out.
4. Set the washing machine for “delicate cycle.”
5. Add the recommended amount of Woolite for your size load (NOTE: Jeans should only be washed with other jeans, and no more than five pair per load, with the washer set on it’s largest load setting).
6. Using the cold water setting (cold water wash and rinse) and start the washer.
7. When the water has started to fill and the Woolite is dissolved, add the jeans.
8. If you like your jeans to have a softer feel, add fabric softener during the rinse cycle, as per the fabric softener directions. Always use the fabric softener dispenser as pouring the fabric softener directly into the wash water may cause staining and discoloration of your jeans.
9. When the wash cycle is complete, remove your jeans promptly.
10. Turn the jeans right side out and hang them by the waist on the pants hanger.
11. Hang them on a clothes line or clothes rack to air dry (if indoors, make sure you place a towel underneath to catch the drips). Drying time will vary, but may take as long as two days, so plan ahead if you intend on wearing your jeans soon after washing.
12. If you prefer, you may put your jeans in the dryer on the lowest temperature setting. Keep in mind that jeans that are air dried are less likely to shrink and fade than jeans that are dried in a dryer.
13. When dry, we recommend that you hang your jeans rather than fold them to avoid wrinkles and creases.

Additional Tips and Advice

• Hot water and jeans don’t mix. If you wash your jeans in hot water, they may shrink and fade!
• NEVER dry your jeans on anything but the lowest setting of your dryer as it may cause irreversible damage to the denim fabric and color.
• NEVER use bleach when washing your jeans as this will cause fading, discoloration and uneven blotches.
• To avoid fabric dye transfer, wash your jeans separately, apart from other types of clothing.
• Wash light blue jeans and dark blue jeans separately to avoid dye transfer and color blotching.
• If your jeans are too big, don’t try to shrink them to your size by placing them in a hot water wash or hot dryer. They will shrink unevenly. Instead, have them professionallyaltered.
• If the waist of your jeans seems to have shrunk or is a little too snug, try stretching the waistband while the jeans are still wet—button the fly and place a stiff board in the waist band to hold it in a stretched position. Some stores have products for this purpose. If you can stand the feeling, you might even try wearing the jeans around while they are wet so as to achieve a better fit.
• Black jeans tend to shrink and fade faster than blue jeans. Try adding some regular table salt to the wash water (about ¼ cup), especially the first few times you wash, to lessen fading and shrinkage.
